A phishing attack via a fake Zoom invitation resulted in a massive financial loss for an investor in the Gigachad (GIGA) memecoin. An anonymous investor known as Still in the Game reported that his wallets were compromised after clicking a malicious link, which installed malware on his device, allowing a hacker to access his crypto funds. The incident triggered a major sell-off of GIGA tokens on November 12, causing a sharp drop in the token’s price. According to Scam Sniffer, a crypto-focused security firm, the phishing link redirected the investor to a fraudulent site designed to steal wallet credentials. The attacker subsequently drained 95.3 million GIGA tokens, worth around $6.09 million, converted them into 11,759 Solana (SOL) tokens, and moved the funds to the KuCoin exchange. The victim has since contacted the FBI and digital forensics experts in hopes of recovering the stolen assets. Despite the setback, the investor remains optimistic, believing that market growth may help him eventually recover from the loss.
